As I tidy the living room with mountains of wrapping paper, kids running around ‘hyper’ climbing the walls as they have chocolate overload, the remote of the tv nowhere to be found, I realize I have to reflect on my parenting skills, and do an ‘UPGRADE’ for 2012.

… let my children be a fruit orphan (apple & blackberry, that is)

… buy posh clothes that they will outgrow in three weeks time.

… cope with a tantrum, by having a tantrum myself.

… change my name from mommy to inday, even though mommy gets called around 4,000 times a day.

… use the television as my child minder.

… give the boy a chance to say this words again: ‘we’re late again mom!’

… say, ‘because, I said so!’

… allow the boy & his kuya to use the lap top for more than two hours.

… give in to the boy’s ‘puppy eyes’ and ‘please, please, mom…’ begging.

… never turn into my mother. (She’s pretty strict)

… insist that the boy does his homework first, before watching the television.

… be tougher about bed time & junk-food consumption.

… try to be more organized, that they won’t miss a Tae Kwon-Do lesson again.

… teach them that clothes are not used to sweep the floor. (gawd! those stains are very hard to remove!)

… be a good role-model, by trying to eat veggies! (is ketchup included in your 5-a-day?)

… get dressed for the school run, coz seriously, my pyjama bottoms are not Juicy tracksuit.

… be a better mother.

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.

Last year we went back home & celebrate festive seasons in the Philippines with our family. And as much as I miss home, I am quite looking forward to this christmas— our first christmas in our new home,,, our first Christmas as a married couple ♥

God is good and I am blessed with a loving husband, adorable kids & great friends, I couldn’t ask for more.

So 2012… Bring it On!

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family.  Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.
